Founded by André Petrelluzzi, Le Petit Hotel opened its doors in November 1996, following the construction of L’Esplanade Hotel in 1992. Designed by the same architect, the Mediterranean style of the two hotels remains distinctive and unique on the island to this day.
In the beginning, the new establishment had no name, and the staff of L’Esplanade simply referred to it as “the little hotel”. The name was eventually adopted because it perfectly captured the essence of this miniature and complete hotel.
Kristin and Marc Petrelluzzi, who arrived on the island for a two-month vacation, eventually decided to stay and spent four years as managers of Le Petit Hotel before taking over both establishments.
