About

Election campaigns, scandals, hollow promises, parties with no members left: in Carabistouilles (roughly, “Tall Tales”), French comedian Karine Dubernet takes on the great electoral circus. Following her previous show, Perlimpinpin, she sharpens her satire around one underlying question: when exactly did voters lose control of the game?

Working solo, she rattles through a gallery of characters — candidates smoother than their platforms, spin doctors, disillusioned voters — and spares no side of the political spectrum. The show was co-written with Carole Greep and is directed by Marc Pistolesi. It premiered in 2026, played the Avignon Off festival, and runs about 1 hour 10 minutes, in French.

With France’s 2027 presidential race on the horizon, Dubernet returns to a venue that has become something of a second home.

Two performances: Friday, December 18 and Saturday, December 19, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are €25, or €20 for theater members, plus a €0.50 online booking fee per ticket. The theater box office opens every evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
