All-Inclusive Resorts in St. Maarten

In St. Maarten / St. Martin, all-inclusive comes down to three resorts, all on the Dutch side: the two Sonesta properties in Maho, one of them adults-only, and Divi Little Bay, where the plan is optional. Here is how to choose between them, and when you are better off without one.

Updated October 2026

All-inclusive on the island, explained

All-inclusive has never been the island’s model. St. Maarten / St. Martin is a place to eat out, in the restaurants of Grand Case, the lolos and the beach bars, and most of its hotels, especially on the French side, are small properties where breakfast is the most you get. Resorts with meals and drinks included can be counted on one hand, and every one of them is in the Dutch part, Sint Maarten.

On the French side, the large resort in Anse Marcel, run under the Secrets brand until 2025, is no longer operating as we write. If you want all-inclusive, look to Maho or Little Bay.

The three resorts

Two neighbors in Maho, one for everyone and one for adults, and a more flexible resort in Little Bay.

The largest of the three, with 420 oceanfront rooms in the heart of Maho Village. The resort runs all-inclusive and caters to families, groups and anyone who likes a lively scene: the Oasis Pool and its swim-up bar, a kids club and an Aqua Park, five restaurants, a pizzeria, five bars and the Serenity Spa. Maho Beach and its planes, the bars and the casino are all within walking distance, and Princess Juliana Airport is minutes away.

Sonesta calls it the only adults-only all-inclusive in St. Maarten. The rate covers meals, drinks, activities and entertainment, room service included, and also opens up the restaurants and activities of Sonesta Maho next door.

All on the Dutch side

The two Sonesta resorts sit side by side in Maho, at the end of the Princess Juliana Airport runway: you get there in minutes, and the planes skimming Maho Beach are part of the scenery.

Divi is on the other side of the Dutch part, on the Little Bay headland just west of Philipsburg. Away from the bustle, it stays close to the Front Street shops and the Boardwalk.

On the French side, from Marigot to Orient Bay, no hotel currently offers an all-inclusive plan.

All-inclusive or not?

What you gain

  • A budget known in advance: meals, drinks and most on-site activities are paid before you leave.
  • No evening logistics: no car to drive, no table to book.
  • Busy kids, with the clubs and pools at Sonesta Maho and Divi.
  • An easy arrival: both Sonesta resorts are minutes from the airport.

What you may miss

  • The island’s food scene: the restaurants and lolos of Grand Case are on the other side of the island.
  • The best-known French-side beaches, such as Orient Bay, Pinel Island or Baie Rouge, which take a car or a taxi.
  • Every meal you eat out, you pay for twice.
  • Choice: only three resorts, in two areas.

Our advice. On a first trip, all-inclusive makes the first days easy; still plan one or two evenings in Grand Case. If you want that freedom every night, Divi on a room-only or breakfast rate is the best compromise.

Before you book, ask

What an all-inclusive plan covers varies from one resort to the next, and from year to year. These questions help avoid surprises.

Drinks
Which spirits and wines are included: local brands, premium brands, cocktails, wine by the glass or by the bottle?
Restaurants
Are all the à la carte restaurants included, and do they need a reservation?
Your room
Are room service and the minibar included?
Extras
Are the spa, motorized water sports and excursions extra?
The price
Are taxes and tips included in the rate?
Kids
What is the minimum age at an adults-only resort, and what do children cost elsewhere?
Renovations
Will a restaurant or pool be closed during your dates? Some hotels renovate in the low season.

On the French side, the closest thing

No all-inclusive, but breakfast included and restaurants within walking distance: two properties that come close.

Frequently asked questions

Are there all-inclusive hotels on the French side?

Not as we write. The large resort in Anse Marcel, run under the Secrets brand until 2025, is no longer operating. On the French side, the choice is mostly small hotels, residences and villas.

Which all-inclusive is best for couples?

Sonesta Ocean Point, which is adults-only, is the best fit. Divi Little Bay, away from the Maho bustle, also works if you want the freedom to eat out. See our guide St. Maarten for couples.

And for families?

Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, with its kids club and Aqua Park, or Divi Little Bay, with its kids club and sheltered beach. See our guide St. Maarten with kids.

Do I need a car at an all-inclusive?

Not to stay at the resort: Maho Village and Maho Beach are within walking distance of both Sonesta resorts. To see the French-side beaches or have dinner in Grand Case, plan on a rental car or a taxi.

Can I pay in US dollars?

Yes. The US dollar is accepted across the island, and it is the main currency on the Dutch side, where all three resorts are. See currency and payments.
