Petite Plage
Grand Case, northwest coast of Saint Martin
Petite Plage, the quiet corner at the end of Grand Case
Petite Plage sits at the northern end of Grand Case, facing Creole Rock. As its name suggests, the beach is small: it forms a more intimate cove than the long Grand Case beach, with water that is often clear and sheltered when conditions are calm.
The spot is closely associated with Grand Case Beach Club and Sunset Café, right by the water. The atmosphere is therefore quieter and more residential than a large busy public beach. Sand space can change with swell and season, and some sections are linked to nearby venues.
In calm seas, Petite Plage is pleasant for swimming, snorkeling near rocky areas or joining a local excursion toward Creole Rock. Underwater life can be interesting, but watch for boats, rocks and current around the points.
Access is through Grand Case, at the end of Petite Plage road. Parking is limited: arrive early for a daytime visit, or choose a short late-afternoon stop. For more restaurants and a longer stretch of sand, Grand Case is only a few minutes away on foot or by car.
Petite Plage is a good choice for travelers who want a quiet, photogenic corner close to Grand Case dining. It is less suitable if you need lots of space, beach games or easy parking.
