Ferries & Nearby Islands
From Saint Martin, several ferry companies operate regular connections to nearby islands: Saint Barthelemy, Anguilla and Saba. Here is everything you need to plan your crossing.

Ferries depart from three different ports depending on the company and destination.
Marigot Ferry Terminal
French sideFrench side. Public ferries to Anguilla and Voyager to St Barths. Free parking nearby. Open 7 days a week from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Bobby's Marina, Philipsburg
Dutch sideDutch side. Great Bay Express to St Barths and Makana Ferry to Saba.
Simpson Bay Resort Marina
Dutch sideDutch side, near SXM Airport. GB Ferries (GB Dream) to Anguilla.
Saint Barthelemy (St Barths)
Two companies serve Gustavia from Saint Martin. The trip takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour depending on the operator.

Anguilla
Anguilla is just a 20 to 25-minute ferry ride from Saint Martin. Two options are available: the public ferry from Marigot or the private fast ferry from Simpson Bay.

In addition to the ticket price, departure taxes are collected when leaving Anguilla.

Saba
The island of Saba, nicknamed "The Unspoiled Queen", is accessible by ferry from the Dutch side. The crossing takes about 1.5 hours.

Check-in
Arrive at least 1 hour before departure. Check-in closes strictly 20 to 35 minutes before departure depending on the company.
Passport required
A valid passport is required for all international crossings, even to Anguilla or St Barths. ID cards are not accepted by port authorities.
Luggage
Each passenger is allowed 1 carry-on and 1 to 2 checked bags depending on the company. Extra luggage is charged between $5 and $20.
Online booking
Online bookings generally need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. During peak season (December to April), advance booking is highly recommended.
Seasickness
Crossings can be choppy, especially between December and March. Consider preventive treatment if you are prone to seasickness.
Cancellations
Crossings may be cancelled due to bad weather or rough seas. Check the company website or call before heading to the port.
