From Saint Martin, several ferry companies operate regular connections to nearby islands: Saint Barthelemy, Anguilla and Saba. Here is everything you need to plan your crossing.

Two companies serve Gustavia from Saint Martin. The trip takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour depending on the operator.
Anguilla is just a 20 to 25-minute ferry ride from Saint Martin. Two options are available: the public ferry from Marigot or the private fast ferry from Simpson Bay.

The island of Saba, nicknamed "The Unspoiled Queen", is accessible by ferry from the Dutch side. The crossing takes about 1.5 hours.

A valid passport is required for all international crossings, even to Anguilla or St Barths. ID cards are not accepted by port authorities.
Each passenger is allowed 1 carry-on and 1 to 2 checked bags depending on the company. Extra luggage is charged between $5 and $20.
Online bookings generally need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. During peak season (December to April), advance booking is highly recommended.
Crossings can be choppy, especially between December and March. Consider preventive treatment if you are prone to seasickness.
Crossings may be cancelled due to bad weather or rough seas. Check the company website or call before heading to the port.
