From January 8, 2027, Air Caraïbes flies Pointe-à-Pitre to Princess Juliana every day on an ATR 72-600, with round trips from €199. Paired with the Paris Orly nonstops, it opens a route to Paris seven days a week.

Starting January 8, 2027, Air Caraïbes will fly daily between Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe (PTP), and Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) on the Dutch side of the island. The carrier announced the route on October 15, 2026, at a press conference at Simpson Bay Resort. It will be flown with an ATR 72-600 turboprop, and tickets are already on sale from €199 round trip.

The new flight comes on top of the service Air Caraïbes already runs into Grand Case Airport on the French side, and the airline says no Grand Case flights were cut to make room for it. Commercial director for the French Caribbean and French Guiana Noëlla Abitbol put the extra capacity at around 54,000 seats a year between Guadeloupe and St. Maarten.

The schedule

Departure times change with the day of the week. The flight takes 50 minutes, and both islands share the same time zone. This is the winter schedule:

  • Mondays and Thursdays: depart Pointe-à-Pitre 10:10 am, arrive SXM 11:00 am; return departs SXM 11:30 am, arrives PTP 12:20 pm
  • Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays: depart PTP 4:10 pm, arrive SXM 5:00 pm; return 5:30 pm, arriving 6:20 pm
  • Wednesdays and Sundays: depart PTP 1:35 pm, arrive SXM 2:25 pm; return 2:55 pm, arriving 3:45 pm

The summer schedule keeps the same Monday and Thursday times and moves the other flights earlier. On Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the flight departs PTP at 3:05 pm (arriving 3:55 pm) and returns from SXM at 4:20 pm (arriving 5:10 pm). On Wednesdays and Sundays, it departs at 12:50 pm (arriving 1:40 pm) and returns at 2:10 pm (arriving 3:00 pm).

A way to Paris every day of the week

The bigger picture is the link to mainland France. On October 15, Air Caraïbes brought back its nonstop Paris Orly–Juliana flight on the Airbus A350, running Mondays and Thursdays. On the other days, the daily hop to Guadeloupe connects with the airline’s transatlantic flights, and the carrier says the timings were built for quick connections. From Princess Juliana, that means a way to Paris seven days a week, nonstop or via Pointe-à-Pitre. Round trips start at €756 from St. Maarten and €652 from Paris Orly, taxes included.

Landing at Juliana rather than Grand Case also makes it easier to pair a trip from the French Antilles with SXM’s wide choice of flights to the rest of the Caribbean and North America. Service to Miami, New York and Canada is stepping up for the 2026-27 winter season.

Fares and booking

Launch fares start at €199 round trip from Pointe-à-Pitre and €249 from Fort-de-France, taxes included. That’s a Basic fare with a 5 kg carry-on and no checked bag. The fare is guaranteed through December 31, 2027 on bookings made at least 60 days before departure, subject to availability. Tickets are non-refundable but can be changed under conditions. Taxes and airport fees included in the Pointe-à-Pitre–Juliana fare come to €117.96.
