La Perle Bleu is not the kind of restaurant you simply spot while driving along Welfare Road. It sits tucked away in Cole Bay, close to the Simpson Bay Lagoon, and that hidden position is part of the appeal: you leave the traffic behind, move toward the water and step onto an open veranda with white tables, woven ceiling details, blue accents and a direct lagoon view.

The kitchen is associated with Rosita and Jeanne and reads as French cooking with a clear Caribbean personality: careful sauces, seafood, local rhum, fresh fruit and polished plating. The menu gives the place its own identity with grilled lobster flambeed with Dame Roiseaux rhum, crispy snails flambeed with absinthe and forest emulsion, scallop puff pastry with garlic cream, foie gras with gingerbread and island chutney, duck breast with raspberry sauce, rack of lamb with thyme jus and rosemary-braised lamb shank with merlot sauce.

The atmosphere suits a quiet dinner, a small-table evening or a more polished meal in the Cole Bay area. The veranda is the best seat for the view, while the indoor room, with its blue tropical decor, works well on hotter evenings or if a shower passes through. The venue can also handle group meals, birthdays, weddings and baby showers thanks to a more banquet-friendly layout.

Drinks are part of the experience here: wine cellar selections, house cocktails, aged rhums, bourbons and a cigar lounge corner. Local sources mention a 4 pm to 6 pm happy hour and a Wednesday Ladies Night with discounted cocktails. Seasonal offers can change, so it is worth confirming them when you book.

Reserve ahead if you want a veranda table, especially from Thursday to Sunday when the restaurant also opens during the day.
