Airport Transfer in Saint Martin
Everything you need to know to get from the airport to your accommodation, on both the French and Dutch sides.
How does it work in Saint Martin?
There is no public bus or free shuttle connecting the airports to tourist areas in Saint Martin. Uber, Lyft and other ride-hailing apps are not available on the island.
You have two options: shared taxis available at the airport exit, or booking a private driver in advance.
Shared taxis at the airport
Taxis waiting outside Princess Juliana Airport are shared taxis. The driver picks up several passengers going in different directions, which can make the ride significantly longer. Fares range from $30 to $65 for 1-2 passengers depending on your destination.
See our complete taxi guide →Booking a private driver
If you prefer a direct transfer without detours, you can book a private driver online. The driver waits for you at the exit with a sign showing your name and takes you straight to your destination.
The service we recommend:
SXM Transfer
- Flat rate of $60 (approximately 50 euros) per ride
- Online booking available up to 1 hour before
- Pay the driver on arrival
- No surcharge if your flight is delayed
- Covers the entire island (French and Dutch sides)
Princess Juliana Airport (SXM)
Princess Juliana International Airport is the main gateway to the island, located on the Dutch side in Simpson Bay. Famous for its spectacular landings above Maho Beach, most international flights (Europe, North America, Caribbean) land here.
Grand Case Airport (SFG)
L'Esperance Grand Case Airport is a small regional airport on the French side. It serves inter-island connections to Guadeloupe, Saint Barthelemy and other nearby islands. It is a quieter option if you are arriving from a neighboring island.

Practical tips
Bring cash (euros or US dollars): most taxis and private drivers do not accept credit cards.
If you arrive at night, book in advance. Taxis are less available after 10 PM.
Always ask for the fare before getting into a taxi at the airport. Rates are not clearly displayed.
Allow 15 to 30 extra minutes if you take a shared taxi, as the driver drops off other passengers along the way.
If you are staying on the French side (Grand Case, Marigot, Orient Bay), the ride from Princess Juliana typically takes 25 to 40 minutes.
