Contour Airlines launches nonstop flights between St. Thomas and St. Maarten from October 2026
Good news for regional travelers: Contour Airlines will open nonstop service between St. Thomas (STT) and St. Maarten (SXM) from October 5, 2026, twice a week.

Contour Airlines has announced new nonstop service between St. Thomas and St. Maarten. From Monday, October 5, 2026, the airline will link Cyril E. King Airport (STT) with Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM), a welcome boost for tourism and travel across the northeastern Caribbean.

The route will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, on Contour's 30-seat regional jets. For residents and visitors alike, it is a practical way to combine St. Thomas and St. Maarten without a long connection, with a little more comfort on board.

Stronger connectivity for the island

The new service fits Contour's growing Caribbean network. It brings two popular destinations closer together, makes multi-island trips easier, and supports the family, cultural and business ties that already link the U.S. Virgin Islands with Saint Martin / Sint Maarten.

"Contour is proud to continue expanding air service throughout the Caribbean with meaningful routes that connect communities, support tourism, and improve access between islands," said Ben Munson, President of Contour Airlines. "This new nonstop service between St. Thomas and St. Maarten reflects our ongoing commitment to providing convenient, reliable, and comfortable air travel options across the region."

U.S. Virgin Islands Tourism Commissioner Jennifer Matarangas-King welcomed the route as another step for regional travel: "We are excited about the addition of this new Contour Airlines flight between St. Thomas and St. Maarten, which further expands the connectivity between the U.S. Virgin Islands and the broader Caribbean. This new service not only makes it easier for travelers to explore the region, but also strengthens the longstanding family, cultural, and business connections that have united our islands for generations."

At Princess Juliana, PJIA CEO Michael Cleaver also highlighted Contour's expanding San Juan operations: "We are pleased to welcome Contour Airlines' continued investment in Sint Maarten through the launch of nonstop service to St. Thomas and the expansion of its San Juan operations. Every new route strengthens the connectivity that is so vital to island communities. It strengthens regional ties, expands opportunities for business and tourism, enhances mobility for our residents and gives travelers greater choice in how they connect across the Caribbean and beyond."

Schedule: Mondays and Fridays

The announced timetable is clear and easy to plan around, whether you are booking a weekend getaway or a combined island stay:

Mondays

  • STT → SXM: 11:35 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • SXM → STT: 1:15 p.m. - 2:10 p.m.

Fridays

  • STT → SXM: 12:35 p.m. - 1:35 p.m.
  • SXM → STT: 2:30 p.m. - 3:25 p.m.

Flight times are about one hour, which makes the hop between the two airports attractive for a same-day return or a smooth multi-destination itinerary.

On board: 30-seat jets and complimentary snacks

Flights will use Contour's 30-seat regional jets, with extra legroom and complimentary snacks. The airline positions the product as a premium regional experience: leather seating, snack and beverage service, and more comfort than on a tightly packed small aircraft.

How to book

Tickets are available at contourairlines.com, by phone at (888) 332-6686, through travel agencies, and via Contour's interline partners (including Alaska, American, JetBlue, United and Winair).

For Saint Martin, this is practical good news: another regional gateway, clear schedules from October, and one more easy way to link STT and SXM.
