Travelers flying from South Florida to Saint-Martin / Sint Maarten this winter get a capacity bump: JetBlue plans to operate Fort Lauderdale (FLL)-Princess Juliana Airport (SXM) with an Airbus A321 of about 200 seats, replacing the Airbus A320 of about 162 seats. Published schedules show the larger aircraft from roughly 25 October 2026 through 4 January 2027.
Daily frequency stays the same. This is not an extra flight; it is a larger jet on the same daily nonstop. For anyone booking Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year travel, the practical effect is more seats on a route that already fills quickly between South Florida and the island.
What changes when you book
Moving from A320 to A321 adds nearly forty seats per flight. In peak winter weeks, that extra space can make it easier to secure a ticket, keep a couple or family together, or adjust dates without losing the nonstop. You still land at Princess Juliana (SXM) on the Dutch side. Many guests staying in Marigot, Grand Case, Orient Bay or elsewhere on the French side already use this airport: the border is open and the transfer is a short drive. Extra winter seats from Fort Lauderdale therefore matter for Collectivité trips as much as for Simpson Bay or Philipsburg hotel stays.
JetBlue also serves Saint-Martin / Sint Maarten from other U.S. cities, including New York and Boston, on seasonal schedules. For South Florida this winter, the clear change is the A321 on the daily FLL-SXM flight.
