The boho beach club with a pool on Simpson Bay beach
Babacool is one of the newest beach clubs in Sint Maarten, set right on Simpson Bay beach, just a few meters from the famous airport runway. It is currently the only beach club on the island with a private pool looking onto the sea, complete with pink and white striped daybeds, fringed beach umbrellas and a large wooden deck.
The vibe is intentionally boho-chic: driftwood cabanas, rattan lanterns, dining tables under shade sails and bamboo screens. From morning to sunset, guests move between the pool, the loungers, the cocktail bar and the restaurant where the toes practically touch the water. The cuisine is overseen by Michelin-starred chef Jérôme Ferrer, who designed a fresh, sun-driven menu: dorado ceviche, tuna tartare, Caribbean salads, plancha-grilled fish of the day, gourmet burgers and sharing plates.
Practical info for visitors: Babacool is open daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm, so you can book a lounger or a four-poster daybed for a full day, swim in the pool, have lunch on site and finish with a cocktail at sunset. It is an excellent option if you are staying in Simpson Bay, Pelican Key or Maho and want a beach-club day without driving over to Orient Bay.
