Petite Baie
Petite Baie, a discreet stop near La Belle Créole
Petite Baie is a small beach in the La Belle Créole area, between Marigot, Galisbay and Nettle Bay. Do not confuse it with Little Bay on the Dutch side or Petite Plage in Grand Case: this spot feels more local, discreet and connected to the Marigot Bay landscape.
The beach is small, and the shoreline can change with swell, season and coastal conditions. Come mainly for the view, a quiet pause, sunset photos or a short walk, rather than a full serviced beach day.
In calm weather, the water can be attractive near the shore. After rain, during swell or when seaweed comes in, the experience can be less appealing. Always check the shoreline before settling in, as some sections may be narrow, rocky or covered with natural debris.
Access is by the roads between Marigot and Nettle Bay, around the La Belle Créole area. Access points are not always well signposted, and parking is limited or informal. Respect private properties and do not block tracks or entrances.
Petite Baie is a good option if you enjoy lesser-known corners and late-day views. For easier swimming or more services, Nettle Bay, Baie Rouge or Grand Case will usually be more practical depending on your route.
